Svishtov municipality invests in stable development of the cultural tourism with project to the value of 306 518 Euro. It is financed by the European Union and the Bulgarian government to Phare Cultural tourism program and provides for reconstruction and popularization of the ancient roman fortress in Svishtov NOVE and development of the cultural tourism in the municipality.

The project aims to improve the conditions for ecotourism development in Natural Park Persina and Svishtov municipality by preservation and popularization of the natural resources.

Dobrich municipality is the first municipality, where began an intensive program for castration in order to reduce the population of homeless dogs. All caught dogs are cleaned, inoculated and castrated, and after that they are taken back on the territory, where they have been caught, and the small dogs after all the veterinary procedures are transported to Germany for adoption.

Community development center implements project Harmony with nature through harmony between ehtnos , financed by Foundation Help for the charity in Bulgaria. Within the frames of the project was established children s eco-club, in which students from 3 to 8 class /Bulgarians and roms/ had the opportunity to get acquainted to the principles for harmonic interaction between human and nature.

Also were implemented a large number of ecologic initiatives cleaning activities in the region of the public park, the school, kindergarten, community center, public buildings in the center of the village, the church and one roma neighborhood; flower and decorative bushes planting in these regions /roses, box shrub and others/. Youths radio shows were organized, in order to create habits for preservation of the environment, and also were published brochures, posters and training materials, relevant to the main activities of the project.

The aim of the project is the creation of a sustainable complex tourist product which has to be developed in the Municipality of Zlatograd and the set up of a united system for offering and realization of the tourist services . The accomplishment of the activities is planned in 4 areas: 1. Construction of tourist equipment cyclist alleys and eco paths, tourist agency and a shelter, rehabilitation of actual eco paths; 2. Effective marketing and advertising of the tourist services of the Municipality of Zlatograd and the offered sustainable tourist product; 3. Improvement of the qualification of labour in tourism by courses for tourist guides and providing with employment; 4. Establishment of new tourist services and a tourist agency for bicycle rent ant tourist security outfit, for first help for the tourists given by guides and trained instructors.

The main goal of the project is introducing a new agricultural practice rose planting, which would become a profitable way for making a living for the local population. Beginning in September 2004, the project has been financed entirely by the local community center.

The project aims at creation of integrated tourist product, which would popularize and present the rich culture and historic heritage of the Town of Svishtov. It is a new direction of the regional economic development that would not only contribute to increasing the income from tourism, but will also encourage the development of other sections of the local economy.

The project's main goal was to restore and improve the outlook and the functioning of the natural water fountains at the territory of the city of Svishtov and the surrounding villages in the municipality. In the past the local population built all the water fountains with a lot of love. Restoring them would bring back the tradition of informal social gatherings around them. The water fountains would once again become useful for the stock-breeders. Municipality crews in cooperation with Water and Sewerage specialists developed the project.

The eigh - year background of this edition and the existing interest show that this is the modern approach to establish useful and adequate relations local authorities media - citizens .

The local authorities initiated development and implementation of a project on cleaning out wastes from terrains , greening and introducing separate wastes collection in the municipality , thus improving to a certain extent the environmental conditions in districts with polluted terrains and reaching the biological, healthy and sanitary - hygienic effect in the polluted areas and the surroundings of natural resources, laying the foundations of critical thinking in people s minds, including youths and adult ones.
