In order to decrease drug demand and to prevent from involving people in drug abuse, we decided to make a research on current situation in Dobrich Municipality. The research conducted is in regard to:

Yearly research on key indexes of the European Monitoring Center;

Yearly report on drug abuse and related issues in accordance with methods of Multi City Pompidu Group, Council of Europe ;

Action plan implementation within program of Municipal Public Council of drug abuse.

Meeting premises are provided for elderly people in Village of Krushovitsa. They are involved in partnership, cooperation work and joint initiatives, beneficial for all dwellers. A social service system is developed by municipality. Issue of socialization of elderly and disabled people is part of the municipal development strategy. Municipal council supports club activities and promotes institutional dialog and partnership.

As a pilot municipality, participating in Establishment of Social Integration Centers Program of NAMRB, Mizia Municipality provided project sustainability.

The daily entertainment for children in kindergarten Zvanche in the village of Voyvodovo within the Children s Day Nursery (CDN) are a proof for the need of its existence . This is a place of entertainment and interesting games and carries out a lot of exercises on different topics , which develop the creative thinking not only of children in schools , but also of the youngest ones those from the kindergarten.

A survey on the current status and needs of Roma People was conducted in Botevgrad Municipality. Results obtained will be the basis for developing municipal programs and action plans for improving living standards and inclusion of Roma people in local social and economic activity.

The young people in the municipality of Bratsigovo (the poor and those in the two orphanages) were provided access to alternative training consistent with the modern requirements of the labor market. The IT and English classes became a prerequisite for better career opportunities for the youth in a small city who got the chance of an equal start at the labor market and felt more competitive when searching for a job.

The purpose of the Chance for Disadvantaged Roma Children project was to overcome the isolation of the Romas in Bulgarian society and to create opportunities for the Roma children in the village of Mikrevo, municipality of Strumyani, to continue their education and to develop their creative talents, by establishing a better environment for joint initiatives between children of different ethnic origin.

The project developed a social environment improvement model for lonely and helpless elder citizens. The model eases the administrative and the institutional barriers, reduces the social isolation and contributes to maintaining the personal dignity and the significance of elder residents, as well as to the growing awareness of the public and the institutions about their problems.

The purpose of the day center project was to overcome the isolation of the elder residents in the municipality of Strumyani and to provide them an opportunity to communicate between themselves, to fill their free time and to get actively involved in the social and cultural life in the municipality.

The project was implemented by the Razvitie Community Center in Peshtera. It provides a model for the development of a strategy for the social integration of the Romas, consistent with the needs of the modern civil society. The development of such a strategy became a pressing need for the Municipality of Peshtera, as one-third of its residents are Romas, most of them poor and unemployed.
