Background

The establishment of Children s Day Care Center in the village of Voyvodovo presents a model of rationalizing children s and youths leisure time . Great part of the children comprises of members of socially disadvantaged families and their parents could not provide any out - of - class entertainment . Concerned about young generation Municipality of Miziya established a center , where children would feel useful and could carry out their meetings with friends and coevals , as well as to become part of the village social life .

Practice

After opening the center on 18 December 2002, in January 2003 started the implementation of programme activities . In parallel with these also started the outside classes of kindergarten Zvanche , performed in the same center . The leader of the applied arts group and principal of the kindergarten Maria Pagelska, elaborated a curriculum for work with children of age 5 to 7, to be involved in the separate study groups . The children work only with natural materials . For each holiday they prepare presents and exhibitions of their pieces of art . An annual work plan of the applied arts group has been also prepared . Children form the Kindergarten Zvanche gather twice a week to express their wishes and perform arts . Twice weekly are also performed classes on Orienteering in Social Life , Orienteering in Nature and mathematics , in a cozy atmosphere Center . Elder children (pupils) help younger ones, and share their experience with them .

The topics on which children work on their own in front of the computer are many and various . They learn interesting things about animals living in jungle , Egyptian pyramids, etc. One of their most favorite topics is the Queen Geometry . Here they improve their skills in drawing and combining geometric elements in a picture .

During summer months classes in the CDC are usually performed within the topic Childhood Should Be Happier . Children with disabilities are active participants in all classes. No specific curriculum was prepared for them . The purpose is to make them learn and integrate as active citizens, to make them forget about differences, which distinguishes them from other children . Such classes rationalize their leisure time, thus providing a chance for them to become useful and to gain assistance from their coevals .
Results

Classes carried out in the CDC in the village of Voyvodovo provide an opportunity for children from the kindergarten to play and create in a cozy atmosphere . The curricula enrich their interests and vision on everything . Computer classes provide for them an opportunity at the earliest stage to access innovations of the day . In the course of entertainments and games they lay the foundations of their knowledge to be further used in school education . Through classes and in a natural way they develop their imagination and creative thinking . This also motivates parents to send their children in the kindergarten , because it provides them with useful knowledge to help them build their inner world .
