In realizing the Forum Program the Municipality of Svishtov attracted 26 NGOs, culture centers and sports clubs from the town and villages. They are motivated to take part in public discussions, where local problems are identified and solutions are proposed. The partnerships developed between the municipality and civil society will undoubted lead to productive results.

The case of primary school "Kliment Ohridski" in the Municipality of Batak proves that cooperation between different institutions contributes to a faster and more effective solution of the problems of both local residents and those of central government. Funds from the State Budjet have been saved and the preservation of the school has preserved the image of Fotinovo Village as well.

The initiative put into practice the principles of the European Charter for Youth Participation in the Life of Municipalities and Regions; it has created mechanisms for young people s participation in the work of Varna municipal administration towards youth policy preparation, the development of tools for contacts and feedback among young people and their representatives, for needs assessment and activity coverage.

The performance of the Municipal Council in Madjarovo is improved by the functioning of four Committees, each consisting of five people. Specific for these Committees is that in each of them there is a specialist in the respective area, who can help with expert evaluation and with decision-making. Since the efficiency of this work organisation has been proven, the Municipal Council is considering to increase the number of specialists in each Committee up to two people.

At the end of 1996, the LDS Chairperson presented the Society to the Local Councilors and suggested that LDS should become a non-voting member of the Council. This was granted and the Society has since been able to voice opinions, table memoranda and propose decisions in Council meetings to the benefit of the entire community.
