SEC s preventive and educational work with children is unique as it combines a variety of different functions, without analog in world practice. Three ways are used to counter the negative trends among the children in the municipality of Blagoevgrad:
social assistance;
educational assistance;
psychological assistance.
SEC s team s motto is Regardless of what they are, the children are ours . By focusing its efforts in the above three areas, the team aspires to provide comprehensive assistance to the children.

The main aim of the the Sveti Vrach Foundation team is to improve the level of information of the citizens of the city of Plovdiv in connection with the health insurance system and the health reform. Consultation bureaus are organized in 5 of the polyclinics of the city. Direct contacts are established with the municipality of Plovdiv and the district municipalities. Very popular proves to be the hot telephone line of the Foundation, 5 types of brochures and the cycle of radio programmes on the theme.

The project entitled No to Violence Tomorrow proposes a sustainable municipal model for interaction between NGOs, institutions and citizens on the problems of child harassment through preventive activities, psychological and legal assistance and public involvement. The project was implemented on the territory of Haskovo Municipality in 1998 1999.

A Local Healthcare Centre is established in the Roma neighborhood Buntsova Mahala in the village of Rakitovo. It provides qualified and competent medical services and consultations, and diverse information about hygiene and healthcare through a series of seminars. Roma healthcare workers are trained on site and take part in the centre s activities, working with local families. The project is implemented by the Bulgarian National Committee for UNICEF and the Christian Children Fund - United Kingdom and Ireland, with the financial assistance of the European Union.

Realizing its responsibilities and making use of its legal power the municipality of Ihtiman seeks contemporary approaches to attract public attention and citizen involvement in the establishment of the necessary organizational, material and financial conditions for birth stimulation and raising of small children. With a decision of the Municipal Council of Ihtiman, the municipality opens a Children s Milk Kitchen in March, 1999.
