The idea to undertake steps towards improving communications with representatives of local business on the territory of Vrabnitsa District was initiated by the new managerial staff of the administration aiming at enhancing investment interests, improving services to citizens and companies and creating a new environment of communication between officials of the administration and the business in the region .

On 25 February 2004 a workshop of representatives of business in Vrabnitsa District and the district administration was carried out . The initial idea was mutual acquaintance of business representatives and the managerial staff of the district administration .

At the meeting businessmen suggested their visions related with future investment projects on the territory of the district as well as opportunities to cooperate with the district administration in the course of the implementation .

Often met problems, provoked by administrative obstacles, gaps in the work of officials, who impede in one or another way the work of the companies were also discussed . Various topics envisaging finding solutions to problems were also analyzed .

Business representatives in the district suggested their opinion on future social and economic development of Vrabnitsa District as well as ideas for future cooperation .

The idea to establish a business council was welcomed. This council would unite the interests and support development of production, trade and service activities of companies in the district and influence the development of society and defend the rights of industrial companies .

Provision of support to the district administration in publishing the monthly edition named on the district and its holiday .

Various ideas on mutual partnership in implementation of activities of companies were also shared .

The opinion that this meeting has turned out beneficial and practical for everyone of the participants is general. The idea to transform it into tradition for implementing future cooperation activities between companies and district administration was welcomed .

A monthly edition of Vrabnitsa newspaper has been published supported by local business companies. It indicates all changes affecting citizens, deadlines of administrative procedures, information about future cultural events, and key problems of local community and opinions of readers .

Thus the administration reaches the community and receives feedback. This introduced a step towards building a sustainable civil society and transparency in administrative services .
