The project educates young people to be more sensitive and supportive to the blind, how to communicate with the blind, by teaching them how the blind orientate, how the guide dogs help them, and more.

The 4 Paws Foundation team implements the Blind People World Project thanks to the support of Lidl Bulgaria's socially responsible initiative "You and Lidl for a Better Life".

The Blind People World project aimed to educate 2,000 children from 5 metropolitan schools.

Children in two age groups were trained - from 6 years to 8 years and from 9 to 11 years. The team worked with them because they do not yet have prejudices against different people - including people with disabilities. The goal was to teach young people what is the right behavior towards blind people so they would know how to behave when they grow up.

The trainings were held in the courtyard of the school, where came two trainers and a guide dog. One of trainers - Kalina - was blind - "the living example that the blind are normal people and nothing human is alien to them," said Elka, who is the other trainer. In the beginning the dog mostly interested children. As the emotions around it have calmed down the challenges began: exercises in search for the ball or collect pennies with your eyes closed and others. Thus children experienced the moment of a day of people with visual impairments.

More exercises, funny and interesting games the Foundation "4 Paws" have gathered in a guide. Every child that passed the training got a guide and left the training overwhelmed with emotions.

2000 children have been trained how to understand and communicate with the visual impairments without a shadow of prejudice or lack of empathy.
