The idea for the project came with the introduction of integrated education of children with multiple disabilities in public schools. The frequent problems it causes lead us to believe that such type of programs and activities are needed to support the public education. The large number of integrated children with special educational needs and the lack of experts  makes it impossible to work with these children adequately and on an everyday basis. This is why our educational program has been especially prepared for parents and teachers and supports children's integration. The extra hours of work with a speech-therapist, a psychiatrist and a special teacher develop children's skills and abilities. The daily visits to the center and the constant work allow them to assimilate the knowledge and the skills they have obtained so far.

The provision of a program for early impact on children between the age of 0-6 years introduces the possibility for early intervention, educates parents and makes them more useful and efficient in raising a child with disability problems, thus preventing the risk of abandoning a child due to inability to cope with the arising circumstances.

The main objective of the project is to develop comprehensive social services – medical, professional and social rehabilitation of children with mental, physical and censor disabilities in the towns of Gabrovo and Varna.

This objective was achieved through: locating and integrating children with multiple disability problems from the earliest age, pupils and teenagers; providing a set of social services related to social rehabilitation and children's integration; implementation of educational and development programs, launching a program for early impact, assistance in the successful integration of children with special educational needs into the system of public education with view of their fulfillment in society, legal social consultations, preparation of individual programs for social integration, creating the optimum conditions for correctional-compensatory work with the consumers of these services.

Two centers have opened their doors to children with multiple disabilities in Varna and Gabrovo. An adequate environment and micro-climate have been created for individual and group work with these children. Integration of children with multiple disabilities in public kindergartens and schools is a fact, with the help of a social assistant, of course. The integration system has been improved by decreasing the shortages and stimulating the customers resources.

Families with children with multiple disabilities are more informed of their rights and obligations. The perception of contemporary society of such children has changed and there a positive attitude was formed through the mutual work of experts in these centers with teachers and helping staff of kindergartens and schools.
