To unite efforts for the construction of the new theatre building the Municipality of Razgrad organised a campaign aiming to engage citizens to morally support the initiative. In 2002 the Festival of Folk Traditions and Crafts was held with the accompaniying Yoghurt Fair. The intention of the organisers is the Festival and Fair to become a permanent annual event for the region. The International Conference organized by Varna Municipality with the financial support of the European Union Twinning Program, conducted on 24 - 26 October 2001 in Varna, created the possibility of dialogue between all participants in the educational process: teachers, pedagogues and university lecturers from Bulgaria and abroad, local government, parliamentarians, NGOs and primarily students from Varna schools.
