In the period 08.06 23.06.2005 in Home for old people Svishtov was constructed sun installation for water heating.
During the winter period at lower intensity of sun shining is provided a possibility for heaters accumulators to be warmed up by a caldron installation.
In the period for exploitation of sun collectors can be economized about 44 688 kW/h of energy yearly in conditions of sunny weather. Expected year economies in leva for prize of energy at 0.132 lv./KWh are about 5898,82 lv.

Beautiful Bulgaria project granted extra financing to Svishtov municipality for the implementation of the third object in 2005 Sports ground in Stoyan Nikov neighborhood. This is one of the suburban neighborhoods in town. It is situated in the Eastern part of Svishtov, at the entry/exit of the regional center. The project implementation is the consecutive stage of the purposeful consistent policy of the municipal guidance to invest resources in the improvement of the environment not only in the central part of the town but in suburb neighborhoods too. Beautiful Bulgaria project supported the idea of the municipality and for a first time invested resources in the implementation of project, related to object in the suburb town areas. The project works for a forth year in a row in Svishtov. The other two objects, which will be realized this year by Beautiful Bulgaria are Reconstruction of Svoboda square and Reconstruction of tourist alley to the ancient past of Svishtov.

In 2004 Land forever association on Program Local eco-initiatives of EcoCommunity Foundation organizes a system for distributed collecting of scraps in Svishtov by putting couples of baskets (426) in administrative and school premises with following delivery of the scraps in a buying up station for scraps. In the project personally participated 2 325 people of 14 target groups.
For three months of active paper collecting (partly plastic) in the period October November 2004 were gathered 6 237kg scraps, of which 6 235 kg paper and 38kg plastic. Leaded by the motto, that 1 tone recycled paper prevents cutting down of 17 trees, participants in the campaign contributed for the salvation of a small forest of 3dkr with about 108 trees.
In 2005 the established model for distributed collecting of scraps was supported by a continue of project on Local eco-initiatives Program of EcoCommunity Foundation, as though is realized expansion of the web of participants (27 target groups at the moment) with about 4700 people.

By the present project was implemented a mass pilot model for distributed collecting of scrabs with the participation of six schools (one WDK, five schools), three institutions (Taxation office Svishtov, Department for social support and Labor bureau Department Svishtov) and three NGO s.
In the project took part personally over 2300 people aged from 3 to 55-60 years (about 8% of the Svishtov citizens).
The applied model continued to work and after the end of the project with high stability.
Main activities:
- Preparation for realization of the distributed collecting;
- Training and motivation of the participants in the project;
- Applying the distributed collecting of paper and partly plastic;
- Competition for the most successful and effective practice in schools /quantity of the collected distributed scraps for a person/;
- Media response to the activities on the project .

The municipality of Montana is known by its well-maintained parks and gardens. The city's downtown is a walking area decorated by vast green areas, many fountains, monuments and old trees. The reconstruction of the central garden changed the look of the city and improved the access of people with disabilities to public areas. The construction of an underground industrial water irrigation system reduced the maintenance costs for the central garden and terminated the use of drinking water for this purpose.

Two youth organizations from Bulgaria and Macedonia established contact via Internet and shared basic priorities and possible joint actions in solving environmental issues and strengthening peace on the Balkans. The organizations became ambassadors of a peaceful world, void of violence and ethnic prejudice. The project meets the need for expanding young people's knowledge of environment and environmental preservation on the Balkans.
