On April 22, 2012 in Kyustendil FLGR and Kyustendil Municipality held with the participation of more than 150 volunteers a Volunteer Day.

5 green areas were cultivated, and a playground was formed:

- The garden near the theater;
- Market (Square May 1);
- Garden at the monument of Al. Dimitrov;
- Monument Ludmil Yankov - Street "Rakla";
- Downtown;
- Playground in West district - near blocks 81 and 84 (near the "Sports Zone").

The Volunteering Day was attended by representatives of the Third Primary School, High School "Petar Beron", Natural Science School, School of Textiles and Clothing, Sports School "Vasil Levski", Home for the Disabled "Ilio Voivoda", Young People Red Cross, Tourist Association, representatives of municipal government and administration, Municipal company "Chistota", citizens.

Grass lawns, petunias, shrubs and trees were planted with. Gyms, benches, gazebos, slides were painted. All volunteers were provided with working gloves, brushes, garbage bags, sandwiches and mineral water.
