In the framework of the Improving Bulgarian Local Government Integrity Project, supported by the MATRA Programme of the Dutch Government, training for representatives of municipal administrations from 9 municipalities was held on 19 and 20 of July 2008 in Sofia.

The possibilities for improvement of the transparency and integrity in the work of the municipal administrations were discussed.

Ms. Annemiek Beukman, municipal secretary, Bergen op Zoom, the Netherlands, and Ms. Kristina Creosteanu, head of Public Relations Department of Brashov Municipality, Romania, shared their views and experience with the participants in the training.

The Bulgarian Local Government Integrity project is been carried out in Bulgaria in the period May 2007 – April 2009 by a Consortium of 4 NGOs: NGO Links, Bulgaria, Center for Liberal Strategies, Bulgaria, Foundation for Local Government Reform, Bulgaria, and transForma, Romania.
