At official ceremony Mr. Asen Gagauzov, Minister of Regional Development and Public Works, awarded to Mrs. Ginka Kapitanova, Foundation for Local Government Reform Executive Director, Honorary diploma for exceptional contribution to strengthening the partnership for sustainable integrated regional development of the Republic of Bulgaria as part of a Europe of regions.

The event was held on 4 January,2007 at the Military Club ballroom. About 25 awards were given to representatives from district governments, municipalities, NGOs, media and business. UNDP Bulgaria and the European Commission Delegation to Bulgaria were the international organization distinguished. A number of the other awardees were mayors of Dobrich, Smolyan, and Gotse Delchev; the governors of Stara Zagora and Gabrovo; the National Business Development Network (from the JOBS project), the, Birdlife Bulgaria; and Capital Newspaper.
