In the framework of the project "The Good Governance Principles: Bridging Citizens and Governments" FLGR announced call for proposals for local NGOs from the 2 pilot municipalities - Pazardzhik and Sofia, District Slatina.
Approved three-monthly projects are:

Objective:
Association "Diverse but equal", Sofia
Objective:
To raise trust towards local government through introducing ICT that will lead to greater effectiveness and transparency of the local administration.
Main Activities:
1. Re-structuring of the website of District Slatina, Sofia.
1.1.Enlarging the functions of the website through uploading description and downloadable forms to all services provided by the administration.
1.2.Elaboration a module to integrate the website with the municipal document exchange system and creation of the opportunity to check the status of his/her documents through Internet.

2. Expansion of the municipal document exchange system with a module permitting to inform the citizen/company on substantial changes in the status of the documents: in case of suspension of the proceedings - the cause for this, in case of refusal or conclusion, etc.

Citizen monitoring of the Municipal Council - Pazardzhik
Association International initiatives and partnerships - Pazardzhik
Objective:
To raise the level of transparency and guarantee of public awareness for the decisions of the municipal council in the field of municipal property governance through citizen monitoring of some 40 decisions to be taken in the next three months. A working model for citizen monitoring is to be elaborated.
Main Activities:
1. Elaborating monitoring system and training of representatives of 6 Pazardzhik NGOs.
2. Representatives of the 6 Pazardzhik NGOs monitor the decisions of the municipal council in the field of municipal property governance and analyze the results.
3. Representatives of the 6 Pazardzhik NGOs monitor the media coverage of the municipal council in the field of municipal property governance and analyze the results.
4. A final analyze is prepared and distributed among media and citizen.

Improvement of the effective administrative service provision for the businessmen from the Pazardzhik roma district Iztok
Business Center - Pazardzhik
Objective:
Support for the businessmen from the multiethnic (mainly roma) Iztok district of Pazardzhik in achieving better dialogue with municipal administration, better understanding pf the legal framework and requirements in acquiring documents for possession of buildings and land for business purposes.
Main Activities:
1. Wide publicity campaign on the possibilities given through realization of the project.
2. Carrying out 2 focus-groups with the partnership of municipal experts and municipal councilors with multiethnic businessmen in order to define the main problems met by the businessmen in the thematic area.
3. Elaborating a mechanism for optimizing the municipal procedures in the thematic area with the partnership of municipal experts.
4. Carrying out 3 trainings of the multiethnic businessmen on the process of acquiring documents for possession of buildings and land for business purposes.
5. Preparation, issuing and disseminating a handbook in the thematic field.
6. Consultations provision on specific cases of businessmen.

Civic sector - actor in the local development and effective functioning of the local administration
Association of the private businessmen and employers in Pazardzhik
Objective:
Creation of a powerful tool for interaction between municipality and citizen through website Referendum for Pazardzhik. Citizen would have the possibility to write their propositions, complaints, recommendations and inquiries and would receive answers from the municipal administration to be published on the website.
Main Activities:
1. Creation of the website and activating it.
2. Wide publicity campaign on the possibilities given by the new communication tool.
3. Submitting the received citizen opinions, complaints, recommendations, inquiries etc. to the municipality and publishing the answers on the Referendum for Pazardzhik website.
