The main obstacle to the European integration of the Roma population in the town of Bratcigovo is the lack of education, which in further aspect reflects on the possibilities for equal access to the Labour Market, social and health facilities.

The project started on 01.02.2005. Because of a shown interest from the part of the Roma population 45 people are being educated, 33 set up in the project. The budget of the project is 9 000 .The main project target group are people from Roma origin/birth 270 people of more than 16-year old who are poor educated or illiterate.

First step of the working process is the identification of a group of representatives from the Roma community, which needs education in reading and writing. Three rooms in the Primary School V.Petleshkov - Bratcigovo are equipped for the training. The training is being realized after the preliminary , written and declared desire from the part of the students for regular participation in the classes and successful graduating of the course. There were 33 students set up in the project but now there are 45 people participating in the training. The course includes subjects like Bulgarian language, mathematics, national geography and Roma culture and traditions.

It is expected that after the successful graduating of the course equality at the labour market would be provided for the representatives of the Roma community. Finding of job will motivate more and more representatives of the Roma community to continue their education and to make their children study as well. Knowledge of Bulgarian language will help Roma people fill different types of blanks for administrative and other services by themselves, as well as to help their fellow-citizens.
