In the past few years, joint sport activities of the schools in the Municipality of Svishtov somehow disappeared. Considering student s desire to practice different sports, the Municipal Forum of Svishtov, at one of its sessions discussed the idea to organize a sport tournament of the most popular among the high schools students sport. The idea found the unanimous support of the Forum participants.

The sport tournament Pulse took place in the town of Svishtov, as well as in the villages of Orep, Tsarevets, Kozlovets, Bylgarsko Slivovo, and Hadji Dimitrovo. The students formed teams in small gates soccer, basketball, and track-and-field athletics. The organizers combined preparing for the tournament with check of the sport facilities in the different schools. For those that needed renovation of the sport bases, the organizers prepared a schedule for repairing. For the school councils, the repair served as an alternative outer resource for school property maintenance.

Once the teams, along with the team leaders, judges, and couches, were formed, the project staff organized technical conferences, at which specialists presented the various sports, included in the project, and clarified their rules. The first stage competitions took place in three of the villages Kozlovets, Bulgarsko Slivovo, and Tsarevets. A host of the second stage was the school of Bulgarsko Slivovo. All of the 4 teams, winners from this stage of the competitions, took part in the final basketball and track-and-field competitions in September. All participants received free sport outfits, food and transportation to the place of the competions, while the winners received many awards.

- Improving the sport bases in the villages of the Municipality of Svishtov;

- Improving the physical education of the youths and building sportive and competitive spirit in them;

- Formation of 10 teams of small gates soccer, 20 basketball teams (10 women teams and 10 men teams), as well as 20 track-and-field teams in different disciplines;

- Encouraging the school sport activities and preparation of the teams to participate in interschool sport competition and a municipal field-day.
