The initiative to establish children playgrounds was conducted by the municipal enterprise Cleanness, supported by the managerial staff of the municipality, and welcomed by all citizens, especially by children, and well - promoted in all local media.

Тгe construction of the children playgrounds was coordinated with the Chief Architect of the municipality and performed in accordance with the spatial plans. In some of the discussions also non - governmental organizations took part : Youth organization Mezdra and the Shalom Church. Citizens from neighborhoods and villages were also actively involved in cleaning and preparation of terrains around the buildings. Besides the standard facilities (cradles, slides, benches, sand terrains) also appropriate planting out was implemented.

The main activities in forming the terrains, installment and facilities painting, planting out were carried out by the municipal enterprise Cleanness. A great number of them are workers under the national programme From Social Aids Towards Provision of Employment. The facilities were made in the enterprise itself.

Six of the playgrounds were constructed in neighborhoods and villages of majority roma population (village of Krapets and Moravitsa, neighborhoods Princhovets city of Mezdra, where mostly Roma people live. Besides the children facilities a basketball and football playground was also constructed. The Youth Organziation in Mezdra took active part through material (net, stakes, paint) and labour in the project implementation. Most of the work was performed the citizens in the roma neighborhood, who are workers under the National programme From Social Aids towards Provision of Employment . Thus they become more involved in the preservation and maintenance of facilities after the construction of the playgrounds.

Each playground was opened officially with a ceremony and under the conduct of the municipal managerial staff, citizens in the neighborhood, lots of children, workers form the municipal enterprise Cleanness, and the events were promoted in the local cable TV Intersat and the Mezdra 21 Century newspaper.
