The unemployment in the city of Silistra, invariably leading to family budget shrinkage, compelled the young people to seek temporary jobs during the summer days. The Youth Club of Silistra, with the support of the Committee for Youth, Physical Education and Sport, has organized a summer youth labor market. The market arranges for interviews and meetings with business representatives from the region and provides temporary jobs in the summer for 60 per cent of the young people out of a total of 342 who have shown interest in the initiative.

Drug and alcohol abuse are increasingly prevalent among the young. To remedy the situation, Mladost District launched a program aimed at encouraging young people s involvement in local public dialog and community work.
