The Foundation for Local Government Reform organizes series of 6 regional information seminars regarding the Strengthening of the Local Economic Development Units in the Bulgarian Municipalities.

The seminars are to be held in the period 19 November – 6 December 2007 in the towns of Veliko Tarnovo, Varna, Stara Zagora, Plovdiv and Sofia.

Topics to be addressed will be:

• Effective policies and programs for economic development
• Creating data bases and their application
• Business retention and expansion
• Work force development
• Marketing of municipalities
• Attraction new businesses and negotiations with potential investors
• Financing the LED municipalities projects by the EU funds

Mayors, deputy mayors department directors from all Bulgarian municipalities are invited to participate the fora.
