More than 160 municipal experts participated in FLGR seminars

FLGR initiated training seminars related to the Municipal Development Plans, which provide both theoretical and practical knowledge about the topic. The newly-adopted Regional Development Act and the sub-legislative normative documents bring foreword important issues and requirements directly affecting the local authorities and the development of the local strategic documents.

Based on its Methodological Instructions on Municipal Plans Development, which were prepared by FLGR in late 2004, the Foundation organized a series of training seminars in each of the 6 planning regions within the country. Lecturers during the events were experts from the Ministry of Regional Development and Public Works.

More than 160 municipal experts participated in the seminars and had the chance to get acquainted with the latest requirements regarding the overall planning process and exchange good practices among them. Feedback information from the participants and demonstrated interest towards the topic comes to prove the timely and effective organization of the seminars throughout the country.

These training seminars ensure basic knowledge for the local authorities in the field of Municipal Development Plans on a national scale and provide for the quality for the planning documents for the next planning period - 2007 - 2013.
