On April 22, 2012 in Kyustendil the Kyustendil Municipality and FLGR held Volunteer Day with the participation of 150 volunteers.

5 green areas were cultivated and one playground was formed - all those green areas that gathered the highest interest of the civilian observers during the 6-month citizen monitoring held in 2011.

Volunteer Day attended by representatives of the Third Primary School, High School "Petar Beron" , Natural and Science School, School of Textiles and Clothing, Sports School "Vasil Levski", Home for the Disabled "Ilio Voivoda", young people from the Bulgarian Red Cross, Tourist association, representatives of municipal leadeship and administration, municipal company "Chistota", citizens.

Grass, petunias, shrubs and trees were planted. Jungle gyms, benches, gazebos, slides were painted.

All volunteers were secured with working gloves, brushes, garbage bags, sandwiches and mineral water.

Volunteer Day was funded by FLGR within the project "Citizen Monitoring towards Effective Management of Public Resources ", funded by the America for Bulgaria Foundation.
