The international conference "Maintenance and Management of High-Rise Multi-Family Housing in Bulgaria: Lessons Learnt and Opportunities Drawn from European Integration" will be held on 29 June 2006, at Sofia Grand Hotel, Sofia Hall, by the Foundation for Local Government Reform.

The purpose of the conference is to present the current state of Bulgaria's Housing Sector Reforms and highlight the European experience and best practices of urban and housing rehabilitation of housing estates. Guest speakers from the Netherlands, Lithuania and Romania will present their experience.

The conference is organised within the Strengthening the Role of Local Governments and the Third Sector in Housing - Bulgaria project, funded by the MATRA programme of the Dutch Ministry of Foreign Affairs and implemented jointly with the Institute for Housing and Urban development Studies and PRC Bouwcentrum, The Netherlands.

More than 150 experts are invited to take part in this international forum - representatives of central and local authorities, regional associations of municipalities, banks and professional and business organisations.
