Happy Baba Marta Day 2018
visits: 1438
Grandma March Day (or simply Baba Marta, Bulgarian: Баба Марта) is a holiday celebrated in Bulgaria, on March 1st.

When Baba Marta is infuriated she asks her younger brother (February) to lend her three days (that is why February has only 28 days). In these days, called "borrowed days", "zaemnitsi", or "few days" in the Bulgarian folk tradition, Marta lets out the strong snows and blizzards.

When Grandma March is very angry, she breaks off her shirt and "scatters" the rags - often such a fleeting snow in big flakes falls during the "female" month of March.
