On May 1, 2005, FLGR starts a new initiative for supporting project implementation in the Bulgarian municipalities:
One-year Low-interest Loan Fund.
Many Bulgarian municipalities experience difficulties in providing project support, which prevent them from preparing and implementing significant projects. In order to help municipalities, FLGR established a Fund for Supporting Municipal Projects (FSMP). It is a revolving finance resource, which covers short-term financing with low-interest.
The main Fund goal is to provide resources for solving local community problems: public infrastructure construction, municipal customer services improvement, local economic development, which will contribute in implementing Municipal Development Plans.
The maximum amount of a one-year loan is 30 000 BGN, which is no more than 80 % of the project budget.
The minimum amount is 5 000 BGN.
The total FSMP budget is 250 000 BGN.
The FLGR initiative is implemented with the support of the US Agency for International Development.
The FLGR and the Subgrant Programs Team will administer and manage the Fund operation.
More detailed information about the FSMP terms and application procedures can be found only in Bulgarian.
