The main concessio holder for collection of Dobrich waste Schelle Bulgaria has signed a contract to introduce separated collection of waste in the course of 5 five years. Different initiatives were prepared and project applications submitted to EcoLInks for work in this direction, which unfortunately were not successful.

In partnership with Schelle Bulgaria the three schools in Dobrich introduced the separated collection of waste, by using waste bins of different colours with stickers on them, carton boxes for the paper from the classrooms, and preparing information brochures to raise awareness in their classmates about the importance of this initiative.

Children were acquainted with the different type of waste and the possibilities for its recycling and their responsibility increased. The main difficulty experienced was the lack of a unified general system for separated waste collection, which made the disposal of the school waste more difficult.
