Svishtov Municipality has over 60 NGOs which engage in organizing seminars , meetings and trainings . Until recently they had difficulty in finding appropriate halls for conducting these events. Business organizations had the same difficulties when they had to conduct negotiations or meetings. Svishtov is also rich in cultural heritage but there was no one to take care of its promotion and organize visits of Bulgarian and international tourists.

The Training and Information Center was created as an institution providing favourable conditions for qualification and re - training , summarizing and providing fast and easy access to information , ensuring possibilities for NGOs and entrepreneurs to promote their activity and implement the tasks incorporated in the municipal Sustainable Development Strategy .

The Center was founded within a UNDP project as a result of two-year work on the Sustainable Development Strategy and good partnership between local institutions. The Culture Centre provided the premises, which were modernized and equipped for computer rooms, and the Municipality covers the Center s current expenditures.

A great part of the services provided are new for Svishtov Municiplality. The cover a wide range of activities promoting tourism, organizing seminars and trainings, providing pre-print, printing and other technical services.

The center is the only one at the moment in Svishtov having halls with capacity of 40 people to 6-12 people, and all necessary conference equipment. The Center is actively preparing project applications within different funding programmes, including Beautiful Bulgaria project.

The Center functions well and the services it offers are well known in the municipality . It is a preferred partner to NGOs and businesses. So far over 30 seminars, 35 workshops and visits of 24 tourist groups have been organised by the Center. It has won funding for its activity both on its own as well as in partnership with other organizations.
