The “Babythèque” project is an initiative of the librarians Lyuba Shopova and Tsvetana Yovcheva and was supported financially in the second edition of the call "You and Lidl for a Better Life".
The aim of the project was to encourage young families to spend part of their free time in the library with their children, to be acquainted with the modern trends in early personal development and the extraordinary role of reading it.
In the library was created an educational area for mothers with children from 0 to 6 years old. At this age children respond with their sound and visual memory.
In the frame of the project 3D children's books and puppets for children's theater were purchased. Parents' courses are being held, lead by actors, on how to read interestingly to their children tales.
One of the children's most favorite activities, held there, is The Fairy Tales Narrator, when actors read tales with the active participation of children.
The Library at Community Centre “Razvitie – 1873” was nominated for the Bulgarian Librarian and Information Association Prize "Library of the Year 2018" for its innovative “Babythèque” Project related to early childhood reading.
