Background

The Green School aimed at providing possibility for children to get acquainted with the biodiversity in the Centre, to recognize different species, to learn by active involvement through taking photographs, drawing, playing games etc.

Practice
Different steppe ecosystems combine with wetlands in coastal Dobrudja. To raise awareness about the rich biodiversity of the region the project produced a series of information materials, a poster and a set of training materials for children between 6-8, 8-10 and 10-14 years of age. Seminars in the open air in the Center for Protection of Nature and Animals were full of environmental activities and research tasks
Results

The main task of environmental education is creating respect to the environment. The aim is to gradually include all children from kindergartens and schools in Dobrich in the acitvities of the Green School and to make it a permanent event. The training materials developed will be used further on with other groups.
